Delight In The Lord

Delight In The Lord

Think about it! I am certain we need to delight in the Lord daily. Ps. 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord; and he shall give you the desires of your heart. ** What does that mean to delight in the Lord? I think it means to prefer his company over any human being or pleasure. I believe prayer alone with Jesus is not just making requests for our welfare or relief but for His delight. We are created to fellowship with the Lord. Jesus delights when we come alone with him, just wanting to be with him and seeking to know him. If prayer is a burden to you or just a duty or work you are missing the purpose. Ps.18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delights in me. Wow, stop and think about it; that Jesus delights in you and longs to be intimate with you. You bless him when you come to him just wanting him not for what you need but just rejoicing in him alone. There is so much to teach about on the subject of prayer; but if we get this foundation of truth in our heart then prayer becomes our greatest delight. A little child can touch God sometimes more than we adults because they just love being with him and trust him so much they know he will meet the needs they have even without asking. The days ahead of us may look bleak but keep in mind this simple principle of prayer and peace and joy will be with you always in Christ. Go to Jesus who delights in you and let him see your delight is Him alone. May we enter prayer with these words. Ps.73:25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides you. Think about how you enter prayer and why you pray. Amen
