Love Lifted Me

Think about it! All we seem to hear is trouble and pending trouble. Sometimes life seems like a pressure cooker, it helps to remember that people in trouble populates they pages of the Bible. Also remember there are many verses where Jesus promises to help us in the trouble. This morning in prayer, I started singing the old hymn “Love lifted me” John Rowe wrote this in 1912 after studying two stories in the Word. Matt.14:22-33 this is where the disciples were in a terrible storm out on the sea and Jesus appeared; Peter jumped out of the boat and walked on water. He looked at the storm and sank but Jesus reached out his hand of “love and lifted him to safety.” The second story in Matt. 8:23-27 where Jesus is asleep in the boat while a huge storm threatened their lives. They awoke Him and ask for His help. He arose rebuked the storm and it was gone. Love lifted them out of harms way. The course of this song says it all. “Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me! “ We are His children and we can be sure He is going to help us through whatever is ahead of us. He is the eye of every storm and I would encourage you to think about how very much He loves each of us and allow that pure love to lift you up above all these circumstances as it always has done in the past, present and future. I can’t fear or worry when I know who is with me and for me and most of all loves me! God bless you. Jesus is love!
