Prayer Life Brings Peace

Think about it! Isa 26:3 We can’t have an
effective life with worry – can’t overcome. Watch out when adversity
comes – a disease can spread. Worry is the index of a worldly life.
Worry – is a sin we don’t often
recognize as one. We say “it’s only human to worry in the battle”.
You can’t bear the fruits of the Spirit and live in worry. It causes the
good fruit to be sour. Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.
John 14:27; John 16:33 – Antidote
for worry. Our prayer life will decide which will prevail – peace or
worry.
Rev 21:7 He that overcomes
shall inherit all things. If you do not have faith in this scripture then
you’re believing this – He that worries shall be overcome in all things.
Why do we worry?
A bad personal habit. Once formed
its hard to break. an attitude towards what happens may happen or may not
happen. Worry wears grooves in our minds. We are taught to worry by our
parents. Mom worries about kids and father worries about income,
etc. Worry stops the overcoming life! It is contagious – comes from
doubt and unbelief.
Watch – when worry comes it wants
company so it can grow and take over. The world worries and should for
they have no ample reason. Prayer gives another viewpoint of the
circumstances. Chief reason we worry – we don’t trust God or realize our
Heavenly Father cares.
Mat 6:25-26 The thought is the anxious
worrying that saps the spiritual life. Heb 4:12 The key to a
carefree life is a day by day trust that leaves the future wholly in our
Father’s hands.
Why not worry?
It is harmful to us and others
around us. It tries to kill all faith. It affects us spiritually,
physically, and emotionally. During adversity we need to be full of faith
to fight the good fight. Anxiety tears down. Outlook in life – one
says a rainy day is miserable; another says its a great day. All in how you
see it. Christ can keep us in perfect peace in adversity.
Phil 4:6-7 Be careful for
nothing and the peace of God shall keep your hearts. Worry is
incompatible with prayer. Worry prevents us from prayer and prevents God
from working. Heb 4:12-13 Intent of the heart.
I Peter 5:7 Casting all your
cares upon Him for he cares for you. All not part! Worry or trust –
care or prayer. Heb 12:2 – Instructions from Jesus. The secret of
victorious life is inward not outward. Ps 37:1-8 Fret not.
When we fret we worry. Don’t just refuse to worry – really trust Him.
How to stay free:
1. Consistent prayer.
2. Consistent meditating on
the Word.
3. Determined to live without fears but
live faith and trust as a child trusts a good parent
