Think about it! We hear the world telling us what is essential for life, but I want to hear what Jesus says is essential for eternal life. 1 John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he can’t see the kingdom of God. This means we truly repent of all sin and accept Jesus as our personal savior. It is essential to then no longer practice sin but yield all members of our being, mind, soul and body to Christ and His word. It is essential that we walk in faith not by sight, it is essential that we walk in agape love for all people, read I Cor. 13, it is essential to desire the perfect will of God and not our own way, to pray without ceasing, to worship him, remain on watch, to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us of all sin and respond in true repentance, it is essential to forgive all who sin against you, it is essential to hunger and thirst after righteousness Matt.6:33, it is essential to learn to trust the Lord at all times for that protects us from fears, it is essential to read, study and ponder on the word of God, it is essential to remain in subjection to God so we can resist the devil when he tempts us, it is essential to know our weakness and pray for grace to fill them, it is essential to guard our hearts for out of them are the issues of life, for only the pure in heart shall see God, it is essential that we pursue peace with all men Col.1:20 And having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself, by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. “what a price He paid that we may have His peace”, it is essential that we seek His wisdom James 4:13-17 you read it, please. Verse 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. Of course there is so much more, but I will conclude this with a reminder that it is essential to keep Jesus as our first love and then to love our neighbors. Hating sin but not the sinner, praying for them to find Jesus as their Savior. Phil.4:8 Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK on these things. Very essential to do! Be Obedient!
