What are you pursuing?

Think about it! Whatever it is will make you either
decrease or increase in Christ. You will either bring life or death to
others.
As a Christian you can’t stand still
or you will sink into self and die spiritually. Peter was safe as long as
he was walking on the water (putting action to his faith) but as soon as he
stopped and looked at his surroundings he began to fall away from Jesus into
the darkness of the sea.
John 3:30 – He must increase and I
must decrease.
To increase is to add to and
multiply. To decrease is to take away and destroy. John 10:10 – The
thief comes not but to steal, kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have
life and that they might have it more abundantly.
We will either be increasing in
Christ or decreasing, we will only increase if we are in under total subjection
to God and pursuing His Holiness. The moment we step out of subjection to
His Word we begin to decrease. The anointing diminishes – the anointing
came from above and landed on Jesus – Father said this is My Beloved Son in
Whom I’m well pleased. Jesus stayed in total subjection to the Father and
pursued Holiness always.
Paul learned how to allow the life
of Christ to increase – he had to pursue holiness. Holiness is not an
option! Heb 12:14
Follow (to pursue) – peace with all
men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. I Thes 4:1-7,
5:23 – command to be sanctified spirit, soul and body. When you resist
God’s sanctification you decrease in the anointing.
Rom 8:13 – obedience not victory
brings holiness. I Tim 4:7 – train yourself to be godly.
